Celebrate Palm Sunday!

This year Palm Sunday, already a bittersweet celebratory event in the Easter Season, will take on new joy and sorrow, as we gather with Emanuel Lutheran Church in a joint Sunday Service and brunch to say farewell to Pastor Jim and his wife Norma.

Please attend this service at Emanuel Lutheran Church at 10 am on April 1. The Church is located at 501 E. Danaher Street.

There is a potluck brunch immediately following the service. Whether or not you can bring a dish to pass, you are warmly invited to join us.

Palm Sunday is nearly here. Hosanna in the highest!

Change — it’s one of life’s constants

The time is quickly coming when we must say goodbye to our current rector, Pastor Jim Friesner, and his wife Norma. They will be moving to a new parish in Wyoming, MI shortly after the Easter season.

The family at Grace Episcopal Church of Ludington will miss them greatly. We treasured our time together, and are better, stronger and more blessed for having known them.

Starting April 15, we are very happy to welcome back Father Thomas Guback and his wife Sylvia to celebrate with us. We will revert to our traditional Mass time of 11am each Sunday for Holy Eucharist.

Wishing Jim and Norma a fond farewell, all the best down south, and may God go with you, wherever you are.

St. Patrick’s Day Lenten Dinner at Grace Church

Thank you, friends from Grace Church, Immanuel, Bethany and Victory Lutheran Churches, for joining us last night at Lenten Worship. And thanks to Jere Healy and volunteers for a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner! Pastor Jim offered a thought-provoking discussion on Grace: what it is, where it comes from, why it matters and how essential it is to our relationship with God. Undeserved, unlimited, unequaled and unexpected grace. How blessed we are to be named and claimed by God.

Quick thoughts on Ash Wednesday

Last night (Feb 22) at Grace we shared a wonderful penitential Eucharist with new friends and old friends. This Lenten season promises to be filled with contemplative moments, meditations, learnings and reflections. Please join us at Emanuel, Bethany, Grace and Victory churches for a new joint tradition of worshiping together over the next six weeks. We welcome all.

Congrats to our Sexton George Christopher, pancake chef extraordinaire!

Tonight we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with Grace Church’s famous Pancake Dinner. As usual, Grace’s beloved Sexton George Christopher was on duty, ably assisted by Bill Brown and George Budzynski.

Sexton Christopher has been our pancake chef for this event for many years past, and once again he served up many heaping helpings of dinner-plate sized pancakes, pork sausage links and applesauce.

Senior Warden Thom Hawley presented George with a parish certificate of appreciation, honoring him with the thanks of the parish for his dedicated service. As in past years, the results of his labors were delicious! Happy Mardi Gras!
